Help Us Crown the Top Satellite Image of the Year 2012

As 2012 comes to a close, we’re pleased to announce our end-of-the-year top satellite image contest.

This year our constellation (Quickbird, WorldView-1, and WorldView-2) once again captured millions of square kilometers of imagery.

Our experts have combed through the trillions of pixels and found 20 images that we think are especially amazing, and now it’s your turn to tell us what you think. Which ones do you think are the most interesting, aesthetically pleasing and/or astounding?

To vote, simply go to DigitalGlobe’s Facebook page to see the Top Image Contest – 2012 album. You can “like” as many images as you want, but only the five images with the most likes will make it to the final round. You have a week and a half to vote, campaign for, and promote the images you want to see in the top five.

On December 19, we will announce the five images with the overall most “likes” and you will be able to vote on your favorite image via a Facebook poll. Want additional votes in this final round? Follow DigitalGlobe on Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest to retweet, repin and +1 your favorite images.

We will announce the winning image of 2012 in early January 2013. Which one do you think deserves the Top Image of the Year title? We want you to be the judge!
